A taste of Copenhagen
Walking through Christiania (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freetown_Christiania) is guaranteed to open up your eyes to a different and diverse experience. Christiania has many colours - and many hidden gems to explore.
One of them is a small, cozy restaurant, a bit out of the way for the general tourist, but not impossible to reach either. Coming through Pusher Street passing by funny sounding places like “The Opera”, “The Moon Fisher”, “Woodstock” and other interesting scenes, finally you will arrive at the gates of a lovely little hidden house on a corner - sounding the lovely name “Morgenstedet”. The food is wonderful, prepared with organic ingredients only. The bread is a delicacy in its own right. Brought in daily from the famous bakery “Lagkagehuset” located at Christianshavn square.
Morgenstedet means “The Morning Place” - which by the way has no reference to the opening hours which are noon till 21:00 daily.
In summer you can also enjoy your meal in their lovely little garden. -
